Question 1

What exactly is in a Resonate Lighting kit?

Accepted Answer

A Raspberry Pi 5 controller box running LedFx with our simplified Light Show control app, a USB microphone, a pixel controller (SanDevices E682, or Kulp K-series running FPP for sequenced holiday shows), and 12 V WS2811 pixel props such as mega trees, singing trees, strips and rooflines. Power supplies, enclosures and cabling are included and sized to your layout.

Question 2

How does the lighting react to music?

Accepted Answer

The USB microphone feeds LedFx on the Raspberry Pi 5, which analyses the audio in real time and drives the pixels through the pixel controller. You choose the effect mode and colour theme in the Light Show app; the display follows the beat and energy of whatever is playing.

Question 3

Do I need to install an app on my phone?

Accepted Answer

No. The Pi broadcasts its own Wi-Fi hotspot and serves the Light Show control page directly. Connect any phone, tablet or laptop and open the page in a browser — there is nothing to download from an app store.

Question 4

Is the control software included for life?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Buyers get lifetime access to the proprietary Resonate Light Show software that powers the kit. It ships pre-installed on the Pi and updates are included.

Question 5

What is the difference between the E682 and the Kulp K-series controller?

Accepted Answer

The SanDevices E682 is used for live music-reactive displays driven by LedFx. Kulp K-series controllers run FPP (Falcon Player) and are used when you want fully sequenced, scheduled holiday shows. Business and Municipal packages can include both.

Question 6

What are the Starter, Business and Municipal packages?

Accepted Answer

Starter covers a single feature prop (a mega tree or a roofline run) for restaurants, patios and storefronts. Business combines rooflines, trees and accents for plazas, venues and managed properties. Municipal scales to multiple mega trees, singing trees and streetscape runs for BIAs and municipalities. All three share the same controller and software.

Question 7

How much does a kit cost?

Accepted Answer

Every installation is sized to the site, so we quote per project in Canadian dollars. Use the Request a Quote form and we will reply within 24 hours with a scope and pricing.

Question 8

Can I start small and expand later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The control platform is the same across packages, so a Starter installation can grow into a Business or Municipal display by adding props and, where needed, a Kulp controller.

Question 9

Where do you install?

Accepted Answer

We are based in Ontario, Canada and install for commercial, BIA and municipal clients across the province, including Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Windsor, Niagara and surrounding regions.

Question 10

Is the hardware suitable for Ontario winters?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We use 12 V WS2811 pixels in weather-rated housings, sealed power connections and enclosures for controllers and supplies, and anchor trees and rooflines for snow and wind loads.

Question 11

What does seasonal service include?

Accepted Answer

Sequencing holiday shows for FPP controllers, changing colour themes through the year (for example Canada Day, Halloween and winter), pixel checks, software updates, and takedown and storage for seasonal props.

Question 12

Can the display run on a schedule?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Shows can be scheduled to start at dusk and stop at a set time. Sequenced FPP shows follow a playlist schedule; reactive modes can also be scheduled on and off.

Question 13

Which effect modes are available?

Accepted Answer

Pulse, Ripple, Scroll, Power, Rainbow and Solid are the core modes in the Light Show app. Each responds to music differently — try them in the demo on our home page.

Question 14

Which colour themes are included?

Accepted Answer

Christmas, Candy Cane, Grinch, Snowman, Halloween, Canada Day and Ocean ship with every kit, and custom themes can be added for your brand or event.
